Great Bars in Edinburgh

23/01/2015

A great bar remains a really useful resource for a small business.  They’re great for everything from a quick catch up at lunch to a relaxing team evening at the end of the week.  Edinburgh boasts a lot of great bars, and today we’re going to take a look at five of our favourites.

Whiski Bar

If you’re a fan of a good bourbon or scotch, then Whiski is a definite must-visit.  Located on the Royal Mile, it boasts a lovely atmosphere and over 300 malt whiskies (not to mention a wide selection of cocktails, wine and local beers).  Whiski serves delicious food throughout the day, making it just as perfect for a team lunch as the Christmas party.  A unique bar that’s well worth your time.

Whistle Binkies

One of the most enjoyable live music venues in the capital, Whistle Binkies regularly host some of the finest bands currently working in the area.  Having been open for over ten years, it’s earned a reputation for a great night out.  There are regular offers on, and the range of drinks behind the bar is substantial- perfect for letting your hair down after a busy week.

The Black Cat

Having first opened its doors in early 2011, the Black Cat offers a unique, inviting atmosphere.  A variety of Scotland’s finest whiskies are available on-site, as are a number of enjoyable local beers.  The food is Scottish through and through, served between 11 and 11, so whatever time of day you fancy grabbing something to eat, you’ll be catered for.  The coffee is some of the finest you’ll find anywhere, too, so if you fancy a mid-afternoon pick-me-up it’s a great choice of venue.

The Whiski Rooms

Whether you’re after a wonderful Scottish meal or a world class selection of craft beer, it’s hard not to recommend The Whiski Rooms.  They’ve established a reputation both as one of the finest venues in the whole of the UK, and as one of the best whisky bars in the world.  A multiple-time award winner, The Whiski Rooms have everything from great cocktails to luxurious dining rooms.  Food, drink and a great atmosphere for relaxing: it’s all here.

The Jazz Bar

If you’re a fan of music clubs, you’ll definitely enjoy spending an evening at The Jazz Club.  Despite the name, it plays host to a range of acts including those in funk, fusion, soul, blues, roots and acoustic, with multiple international touring bands dropping by.  With gigs every night, seven nights a week all year round, this multiple award winning venue is definitely worth visiting after a long day at work.
